IMPORTANT MESSAGE to members of the Stelia bargaining unit.

May 1st, 2020

Today, Stelia St-Laurent contacted you in order to summon you to resume operations on Monday, May 4th, 2020. There are no layoffs announced by the employer, which is good news in this period of uncertainty.

We are pleased with the work we have done since March 25th and the agreements we have signed with the employer to maintain the maximum benefits associated with your jobs.

IAMAW representatives visited the workplaces to ensure compliance with the physical distancing measures required by public health. There is always room for improvement, but it is on the right track. Your prevention committee will take your comments and the employer is committed to being open to ensure constant evolution in prevention. You will have presentations on new ways of doing things during the day of May 4th.

With respect to the moratorium period for the filing of an article 45, given the impossibility at this moment to have gatherings, there will be an extension of that period. A document will be signed next week to maintain our rights for the joint filing and adaptations that will need to be voted on.

We would like to acknowledge the openness of the employer during this difficult time.

We will keep you informed of future developments.

In solidarity,

Yvon Paiement, President Local Lodge 712 IAMAW

Eric Rancourt, Business Representative District 11 IAMAW
