The CSeries limited partnership is now official

MONTREAL, June 8, 2018-announced in October 2017, the arrival of Airbus in the CSeries limited Partnership (SCACS) has just reached the final step leading to its authorization. It will enter into force officially on July 1, 2018.

“The separation between the activities of the SCACS and Bombardier was already in place at Mirabel, so things are following their course. This chapter is now behind us, we have a better idea of what lies ahead. We will be able to move on to the next steps, ensure the implementation of the reciprocity agreement that was ratified over 92% by the membership last March and look towards the negotiation of the next contract, explains the Quebec coordinator, David Chartrand.

Airbus is already well established in Canada with its 17 000 employees spread in 7 cities and its relationship with 570 suppliers. Let us hope now that their arrival in Mirabel will open the door to a greater involvement from Airbus.

This news confirms that Airbus is taking root in the Quebec aerospace ecosystem. We now have a second manufacturer of international calibre that is going to assemble planes in our country. We need to look at this as the recognition of our aerospace know-how and capitalize on this situation to get Airbus to develop its business here and thus create and secure jobs for the future, says Mr. Chartrand.
